Awards
Each year, CEAM honors the people and projects that strengthen our profession and communities. Many outstanding professionals deserve recognition, and our members deliver a wide range of innovative and essential projects worthy of celebration.
For 2026, we are seeking nominations for the following awards:
• Engineer of the Year – Recognizes a city engineer, chief engineer or director employed by a municipality for outstanding leadership, achievements, and contributions to the profession. View the nomination form.
• Associate Member of the Year – Recognizes an associate member for professional accomplishments, service to CEAM, and support of municipal engineering. View the nomination form.
• Project of the Year – Celebrates innovative and impactful municipal projects. Both transportation and non-transportation projects are considered to reflect the full breadth of our members’ contributions to critical infrastructure. View the nomination form.
We encourage you to nominate a colleague or project and help showcase the exceptional people and impactful work that define our profession.
Deadline for nominations is November 15, 2026. CEAM will announce the winners of the Awards at the 2027 CEAM Annual Conference.
Engineer of the Year
The Engineer of the Year Award recognizes the contributions and accomplishments of outstanding engineers across the state.
2025 Engineer of the Year:
The City Engineers Association of Minnesota (CEAM) is proud to recognize Richard McCoy, Public Works Director/City Engineer for the City of Robbinsdale, as the recipient of the 2025 Engineer of the Year Award. This prestigious award honors Richard for his outstanding leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing municipal engineering to improve communities across Minnesota.
Associate Member of the Year
2025 Associate Member of the Year:
The City Engineers Association of Minnesota (CEAM) is proud to recognize Mike Turner of SRF Consulting Group as the 2025 CEAM Associate Member of the Year. This award honors an associate member whose leadership, service, and sustained commitment have made a meaningful impact on CEAM and its municipal engineering members. Mike is the first individual to receive this distinction, setting a high standard for future honorees.

The City Engineers Association of Minnesota (CEAM) is proud to recognize the City of Oronoco’s Wastewater Treatment System as the 2025 Project of the Year Award recipient. This municipal project demonstrates engineering excellence, innovation, and lasting community impact and showcases how strategic infrastructure investments can enhance quality of life for residents.
